Elena Rantou

Elena Rantou headshot

Elena Rantou is a lead mathematical statistician in the Office of Biostatistics in the Office of Translational Science at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Her work is mainly focused on assessing bioequivalence of topical/dermatological generic products, characterizing outliers in replicate pharmacokinetic studies, and Machine Learning for assessing data integrity.

Before joining the Office of Biostatistics in 2013, she worked as a statistical consultant, as well as in academia, teaching Probability and Statistics for over 15 years. She has been part of the R in Pharma conference organizing committee and program committee since 2018.

Rantou holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business in Athens, Greece, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in xtatistics from American University.

In her free time, Rantou enjoys travelling, cooking, hiking, yoga and spending time with her dog, Millie.
