Tom Woteki, founding director of the Virginia Tech Academy of Data Science, will take part in the 2023 Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Impact AI Summit on May 9 as the moderator of a panel on generative AI.

Woteki’s panel is titled “Generative AI and GPT-4: A Glimpse into the Future of AI,” which will explore how the disruptive technology of generative AI may reshape industries and redefine the way we communicate.

Panelists for the discussion include Michael Haines, lead product manager for the generative AI suite of applications at C3 AI; Jason Payne, chief technology officer at Microsoft Federal; and Srinath Unnikrishnan, AVP and Head of Solutions at Persistent Systems.

Now in its fifth year, the NVTC Impact AI Summit is designed to explore how artificial intelligence is changing the world. Tech innovators, policy makers, and experts will share their insights on how businesses and government agencies are using AI to accelerate innovation, gain competitive advantages, and create operational efficiency.

Keynote speakers for the 2023 event include Vint Cerf, vice president and chief internet evangelist at Google, and Bill Streilein, chief technology officer for the Chief Digital and AI Office in the Department of Defense. There will also be panels on Healthcare and AI, Government and AI, and Trustworthy and Responsible AI, as well as a generative art contest.

Due to high demand, in-person tickets for the event have sold out, but a virtual option has been added. NVTC members can purchase a virtual ticket for $50, while non-member tickets are $65.
